KENNETH JEROME SMITH
May 23, 1952 - March 14, 2017
Kenneth Jerome Smith, 64, was born May 23, 1952 to Charles Samuel Vick, Sr., and Edna Lee Smith in Kansas City, Missouri. Also raised in the Kansas City area, he was the third of twelve children.
Kenneth loved to travel and quickly became an entrepreneur at an early age. Widely known for his kind heartedness, he would help any and every one in need. In the community, Kenneth was lovingly known as, ‘CASH’. Distinguished by his ‘GQ Style’, his crazy laugh, his affectionate personality, along with his signature trade mark- his braided goatee, made his character a ‘Man of Class’. Kenneth loved to have a good time, his favorite drink –Hornitos, and if he ever took you out to dine with him, his famous words were, “Why do you need credit when you got ‘Cash’”. His kindness will always be appreciated.
He departed this life on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Research Medical Center. His parents, Charles Samuel Vick, Sr., and Edna Lee Smith two sisters, Karen and Sharon, wife, Evelonne Smith, and a great nephew, Da'Markco Gillis Bradley all preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Kenneth Smith, Jr, Ryan Crawford and Syan Crawford; four brothers and five sisters, Michael Smith, Edwin Smith, Sheryl Vick, Sonya Vick, Rodney Vick, Audrey Bradly, Charles Vick, Jr. Stephanie Davis and Shalonda Drew; one aunt, Cora Lee Wilson and a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, cousins, adopted children and an abundance of friends who called him, “BROTHER”. He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremations Services, LLC. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Burial Brooking Cemetery. Arrangements by Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC.
