JAYVAN DEMETRIUYS IVY
December 27, 2002 - June 28, 2017
Jayvan Demetrius Ivy was born December 27, 2002 in Kansas City, Missouri to Carrie R. Ivy and Barron Hull.
Jayvan was a smart, patient and lovable kid, especially to those he came in contact with. His cool, relaxed spirit was admirable and noticed by many, young and old. He was very respectful and generous.
Jayvan accepted Christ at an early age at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and he always displayed that gentle Christ-like Spirit.
Jayvan attended Hogan Elementary and recently graduated from the eighth (8th) grade at KIPP Middle School. He was an exceptional athlete in all sports, however, one sport stood out above the others, and that was Basketball. It was his passion and had an undefeated season (27-0) at KIPP. He also played three (3) Years for the Machines and won many trophies. Even through his difficult times, he still wanted to practice and played many games. Jayvan also played the saxophone.
Jayvan answered the Master’s call on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. His great-great-grandma, Ama Taylor, and four uncles, James Ivy, Cleveland Taylor, Charles Council and Lendery Council all preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Carrie Ivy; father, Barron Hull; eight brothers, Derrick Lavon Loker Jr, Kansas City, MO, Barron Jr., LeBarron, Bakari, Jakada, Tristen, Aries and Davaughn; three sisters, Amber, Shanika, Davayah, all of Chicago, IL; grandmother, Janice Jefferson; great-grand-mother, Lovie Council; two aunts, Javon Ivy and Tasha Williams; one favorite cousin, Davon Johnson; close friends, Fazion Campbell and Anthony Couser; four dear coaches he respected and looked up to, Coach Ernest Lambert, Coach Brian Murrell, Coach Cobbins and Coach Trice, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
