Febuary 9, 1968 - June 24, 2017

Craig Robert Williams I, was born on a Friday, February 9, 1968 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the first child born to Claude and Marilyn. He attended Wendell Philips Elementary School, Lincoln Middle,  Lincoln College Preparatory Academy, and Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. As the story goes…he was a founding member of Drink Phi Bo Fraternity, which some claim still exists today. He graduated from National American University with a Business Degree. Early in life, he was taught the importance of a good education, both religious and secular.

Craig accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Sacred Mission Missionary Baptist Church where he began to build the bricks of his spiritual foundation with emphasis on “giving to others”. He was an active participant in Sunday School, as he continued to add more bricks to his spiritual foundation.

Craig was employed by Woodley’s Building Maintenance. He went to work every day after his Radiation Therapy and rode the bus home. He loved his co-workers and enjoyed conversations with the people in each building.

Craig Robert answered the Master’s call on Saturday, June 24, 2017. His paternal grandparents, Claude Sr. & JoAnn Williams; maternal grandfather, Pastor Bobbie Dowdy; paternal uncle and aunt, Anthony and Olivia all preceded him in death.

Craig, affectionately known as " Pappy”, leaves to forever cherish his memories, a praying maternal grandmother, Reba E. Dowdy; proud father, Claude;  powerful duo, mother & stepfather, Marilyn & Milton; a hopeful sister, Claudia (Stefan I); a determined sister/cousin, Michelle (Jerron, Jailea, Stevi and  Summer); three unique brother cousins, Frank, Derrick and Calvin; five precious children, Kyayea (Rebecca), Aminah (Keshawne), Craig II (Desiree), Ché and Chloe (Christine); two beautiful granddaughters, KyAsia and Dayan; two handsome grandsons, Rashaad and KyMane; caring niece, Imani; a groovy nephew, Stefan II; eight “ride or die” aunts; nine “I got yo'  back” uncles; a host of supportive, loving cousins—  nationwide; a “for such a time as this friend,” Bridget Rice; a bunch of “Boogie Gang” friends; several honorary friendships, Arvelt, Charles (aka, Jon Jon), Eric, Erika, Renauld, Sunshine, Tammy, Cecilia and Paris; his marvelous T.M.C.
