Elder Cordell Tobias Roberts
Elder Cordell Tobias Roberts was born October2, 1966 to Ms. Aline Roberts and Mr. Morris Tobias in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was the eldest of five children.
Cordell was educated in the St Louis Missouri school system and graduated with honors from Berkeley Sr. High School, Class of 1986. Cordell Roberts had a profound commitment to education and study. He believed strongly in and subscribed to II Tim 2:15. “Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.” Minister Cordell Roberts furthered his education having attended St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley and The Heart of America theological bible College, Kansas City Mo. Through the years he took correspondence courses from some of the world’s greatest theologians such as Doctors Oral Roberts, Billy Graham, Jerry Falwell, and Myles Monroe, to mention a few. He availed himself for continuing education under the full gospel Baptist church fellowship under the leadership of Bishop Paul S. Morton. In 1988, Minister Cordell Roberts joined Love Outreach Victory Temple. He received his ministerial license under the pastorate of Rev. Claudette S. Mitchell.
Minister Cordell served in many capacities to assist pastors in the growth of their ministries and the training of other ministers. He wouldn’t allow himself to be painted with titles, credentials nor awards but he rather had just served. Minister Cordell’s heart was filled with humility, compassion and servant hood; to that extent his years of service includes membership in:

Keeping before him the text Isaiah 66: 1& 2 “Thus saith the lord, the heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye built unto me? And where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath my hands made, and all those things have been, saith the lord, but to this man will I look even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.”
In 1995, Minister Roberts moved to Jefferson City Missouri, he joined House of Refuge under the pastorate of Alphonse and Jennifer Webb. Then in 1999, Minister Cordell Roberts joined St. Michael’s Deliverance Ministries under the pastorate of Elder Thomas McAdams. Later that year, he was ordained and installed as one of the assistant pastors of St. Michaels by Archbishop Juanita R. Williams where he served faithfully. In 2014, Elder Roberts relocated to Kansas City, Mo. joined Community Fellowship Church of Jesus Christ under the pastorate of Bishop Saundra McFadden-Weaver, where he served as an associate minister, treasurer of the E. R. Morris Men’s Association, a member of the board of ministry and a Christian mentor to all.
Scholarly ways exhibited by him lead to the nickname “The Professor.”
He was preceded in death by his mother, his aunt and uncle; Mr. and Mrs. John and Joyce Lane, and his cousin; Rodney Slaughter.
Elder Cordell Tobias Roberts departed this life on February 8, 2017. He leaves to cherish his memory, A lifelong friend who’s closer than a brother; Bishop Thomas McAdams of Kansas City, MO; his father: Tobias Morris; his siblings: Joseph Roberts of Chesapeake VA, Minister Shantaye Gladney, Reginald (Cheranda) Moore and Georgette (Shawn) Hooper all of Saint Louis MO, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, church family and loving friends.
