Albert Lee Pryor, Sr. was born in Lambert, MS to Albert and Birdellar Pryor. He graduated from Central High School, class of 1976 in Kansas City, MO and attended Penn Valley Community College. Because of his education and natural talents, he was hired as an engineer drafter by a well-known engineering company; Black & Veatch. He was a proud member of the Black & Veatch basketball team where he was known for dunking on the players. He even taught his daughter his famous hook shot.
He was married to Carolyn Scott-Pryor and they were blessed with two children; Albert Lee Pryor, Jr and Brianna Renee' Pryor. He enjoyed carpentry, basketball, fishing, playing Tonk, spending time at the Swap'n'Shop and hanging out with family and friends. He was a huge fan of Michael Jackson as well.
His grandson Landon was his heart and they called each other "Brother"; it was their special thing. "Big Al" was what people would call him and he would tell jokes and was very direct in his conversations. His 6'7" stature was not only a physical description, but a representation of the pillar he was to his community. His talents were something he shared in his position at Home Depot and being hired to build furniture and work on houses.
Al attended Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. He departed this life on February 28th, 2023 due to Stage 4 Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Lymphoma.
