Amos A. Pickens, Jr., 64, was born October 5, 1957 in Kansas City, Kansas to Amos A. Pickens, Sr. and Clara DePriest Pickens.,
Amos was educated in the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools, graduating from Wyandotte High School in 1975. He worked various professions from construction to Mental Health. He retired as a Maintenance Lead from Center Public Schools in 2021.
Amos met the love of his life Michelle in 1999. They were later married in 2002, and became a combined family with eight boys.
He enjoyed fishing, his family cookouts, his plants, and cracking jokes on his sisters.
Amos departed this life on Monday, September 12, 2022. His father, mother, brother, James, sister, Fannie, son, Brandon, and grandson, Titan, all preceded him in death.
Mr. Pickens leaves to cherish his memory his “rib” Michelle; sons, Amos III, Taurean (Christal), DeJuan, Solverio, Xavier, Miles (Porcia), and Isaiah; siblings, Edna, Judy, Dianna, Ruthie, Felice (James), and Dedria (Patrick); brother, Kevin; bonus brothers, Steve, and Wayne; brother in-love, Harold; grand-children, Amir, Jasmine, Jaylon, Jordon, Omari, Onysti, Jacelle, Darron, Dominique, Destiny, Breana, and Selim; great-granddaughter, Jah’Mya; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
