Beatrice was born March 15,1957 in Kansas City, MO: the eldest daughter of Nathaniel and Pauline McDonald. She was lovingly known as Sissy by her family and friends. When she started working in her adult years she took on the shortened version of Bea and “Ms. Bea” was coined soon after. She had a way of commanding respect and people loved her. She is our original Queen Bea. Sissy graduated from Paseo High School of KCMO in 1975 where she met Sylvester Michael Wells, to that union she had Nicole “Nikki” McDonald. She hadn’t planned on anymore children but after meeting Eugene White who proceeded her in death she had Regina Johnson. She enjoyed her single life to the fullest until she met Melvin Roberson whom she married on March 31, 1990 and they enjoyed a blended family of children. She always said she was only marrying once and she made good on that.
Ms. Bea was introduced to working early and gained tenure with a few companies in her lifetime. Parmelee Industries for 12 years then on to work another 16 at the Sheraton Marriott where she retired. She came out of retirement to work at Truman Medical Center where she would work another 8 years before her health retired her.
Ms. Bea enjoyed dancing, music and plants. She never turned down a day at the zoo or a walk in a garden. But her heart especially loved to be in the presence of her grandchildren whom she would try to give the world too. The job title she truly would never retire from because of her love of it was “Granny”.
