Benita Elizabeth Gray

On December 19, 1957 Benita Elizabeth Gray was born to Faye Ann Gray and Benjamin Gray
Jr., in Kansas City, Kansas where she lived and was raised. Benita attended and graduated from Wyandotte
High School. She also attended Emporia State University for a short time. She went on to work
with children in the education system. Her last position was a Site Coordinator at Eastwood Hills
Elementary School In Raytown, Missouri.

On May 20, 2023, Benita Elizabeth Gray passed away at home in Kansas City, Missouri. Loved
ones that have preceded her in death are her parents, Benjamin J. Gray and Faye Ann Gray-
Faulkner (Robert Faulkner); grandson, Fredrick Lastrape Jr.; grandparents, John L. Young and
Espinola Young; brother in-law, Sgt. Willie J. Williams and many other loved ones that will
greet her with open arms.

Benita is survived by her only daughter, Linnette Lastrape; husband, Fredrick Lastrape; grandchildren,
Caleb and Calynn Lastrape; sisters, Debra Williams, Connie Gray (Roxy), Emma
Griswald and Christine Thompson; brothers, Benjamin Gray (Janeen), Jerry Gray and Bobby Faulkner; lifetime partner, Terry Hamilton; several beloved uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins,and friends that will morn her loss.

Memorial Services for Benita Gray will be held on Friday August 4, 2023 at 3 P.M. at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC  located at 2800 East 18th st.,KCMO 64127.
