In Loving Memory of Beverly June Shaw

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverly June Shaw, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on January 2nd. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bill Shaw, who passed in May 2017. Together, they built a life filled with love, faith, and family.

Beverly is survived by her three devoted children: her daughter, Twila Shaw of Charleston, South Carolina; her son, Keith Shaw and wife Lisa of Long Island, New York, and her son, Kyle Shaw of Drexel, Missouri. She leaves behind four cherished grandchildren—Joshua, Jeremiah, Emily, and Jacob—and three precious great-grandsons.

She is also survived by her loving siblings: Karen and David Crabtree of West Point, Indiana, and Norma and Jim Lawton of Lafayette, Indiana, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

For the past 40 years, Beverly was a proud member of Belton Assembly of God Church in Belton, Missouri, where her faith and love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, grew even deeper. Her devotion to her church family and her commitment to living a life that honored Christ were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Beverly’s life was dedicated to her family, and she found her greatest joy in raising her children, ensuring their success, and pouring her love into their lives. Her children adored and deeply loved her in return, a testament to the care and kindness she showed every day.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed…” – Proverbs 31:28

A talented craftswoman, Beverly was known for her creative spirit and skilled hands. She began with macramé and later developed a love for sewing, crafting many cherished items. Her most beloved creations were her famous “quillos,” a unique combination of quilts and pillows that brought warmth and comfort to family and friends alike.

Beverly had a gift for making others feel valued and loved. She was a selfless woman who never spoke ill of anyone, embodying kindness and grace in all her interactions. Her Mexican-inspired puffy tacos were legendary among those who knew her—if you know, you know.

Above all, Beverly loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with all her heart. Her faith was evident in the way she loved others, mirroring the compassion and kindness of Christ Himself.

Beverly’s life was a shining example of love, selflessness, and devotion. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held on Thursday January 9th at Belton Assembly of God in Belton, Missouri.
