Carole Michelle Cann-Talley, recently known as Carole M. Carson, departed this life the evening of Wednesday, August 10, 2022. She was born on June 30, 1966, in Kansas City, Missouri to Willie C McDaniel Sr and Carol Ona McDaniel.
Carole attended Hickman Mills School District, graduating from Hickman Mills Sr. High School in 1984. On June 9, 1984, she married Steven L Cann and together they had two children, Steven Jr and Stacia. They later divorced. Carole and Oliver Manley-Carson were married on April 2, 2018, in Branson, MO. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2022. In addition, Carole was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Willie C McDaniel Jr., and Reginald Q. McDaniel; paternal grandparents, Wilmer McDaniel and Emma McDaniel; and maternal grandparents, Harold Bell and Oliva Goldsby.
Carole retired from Fortis Benefits in 2003. She was a well-known bartender in Kansas City, most recently at Bob’s-N-Motion and Old Folks Lounge. In her free time, she volunteered at local food pantries, enjoyed cooking for those in need, and was always first to lend a helping hand to others. Carole enjoyed roller skating, bowling, traveling, going to the casino, and spending Sunday afternoons with her granddaughter, Kailani. She loved her family and had a beautiful smile and a giving heart.
Carole leaves to cherish her memory son, Steven L. Cann Jr. (Kristel); daughter, Stacia L. Cann; and grand-daughter, Kailani Cann; stepdaughter, Kayla Birch, all of Kansas City MO; three siblings, sister, Tonya M. Hill, Overland Park, KS; brothers, Darryl K. McDaniel (Robert Rose) of Raytown MO, and Byron R. McDaniel (Tameka) of Olathe, KS; one aunt, Cerella Russell (James) of Pleasant Garden, NC; two uncles, Nathaniel McDaniel (Freddie) of Marietta GA, and Booker Goldsby (Latanya) of Kansas City, MO; special friend, James Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
