Carolyn Dyer

Carolyn Genevieve Dyer was born on January 1, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri and was the oldest child born to Gerald and Anna Grace. Her Catholic faith and relationship with Jesus was important to her and her family. She was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed volunteering and had a special place in her heart for helping the elderly and she passed that same passion on to her children. Through volunteering, she came to love and cherish several elderly over the years and filled the end of their lives with love and kindness. But, her kindness and compassion was not just contained to her volunteering; helping others was her calling. She chose St. Jude as her patron saint because she loved to help others in any way she could even if it was just sharing a smile. She was generous with giving of her time and love to all, especially her family, and her love often seemed boundless. To all that knew her, she was a true example of the love that Jesus offers us. Additionally, she never gave up knowing she could do all things through Christ who strengthened her. She touched the lives of countless, will be deeply missed by many and loved by all who met her.

On September 29th, 2024, the world grew dimmer when Carolyn left this Earth. But, we know that heaven became brighter as her light and love now shines among the angels.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Anna Grace, sister Kathy Spicer, son Robby Dyer and grandson Marcus Meriwether and brother-in-laws Mack Spicer and Tony Murdock.

Her love will live on in the lives of those she left behind including her husband Larry Dyer, son Chad (Cathy) Dyer, daughter Christina (Dennis) Bordner, daughter-in-law Lesa Dyer, son Larry Dyer, niece Jennifer Spicer, siblings Fran Murdock and daughter Rose, brother Steve (Kathleen) Grace, sister Susan Grace, sister Mary Grace, brother John Grace and sons Gabe and Joel and bonus sister Stephanie (Luke) Conover and children Chance, Logan, Claire and Cole, her grandchildren Vanessa, Andrew, Layluh, Nick, Angie, and Chris and great grandchildren McKinley, Andrew, Jolene, Zachariah, Jake, Lila, Eden, Millie, and Wade, many cousins, extended family and lifelong best friends Cynthia Grosse and Donna Martin.

Watch over all of us with your never-ending love until we meet again.

In lieu of flowers, because Carolyn was the recipient of two organ donations gifted on behalf of Joey, she would request you give the gift of life that gave her almost 13 extra years with her friends and family. Please become an organ donor in her honor. Any monetary donations can be made in her name to St. Jude’s Hospital in honor of her patron saint.
