Charles Anthony Johnson was born on September 21, 1960 to James and Grace (Hatton) Johnson in Columbia, Missouri. He was the seventh child, and second son of ten siblings. Charles received his formal education through the Kansas City Missouri Public School System, where he excelled in his studies, graduating in May 1978. He spent his youth and adult life in Kansas City, Missouri where he met and married Martha A. Allen on April 22, 1982. From this union, four children were born. Charles was very industrious and hard working. He worked in operations and customer support at Green Cross Stores, Family Dollar, and Blankinship Distributors where he was employed for almost 35 years. His enthusiasm and loyalty were reflected in everything he did. He was always known to be an honest, decent, and dependable person.
Charles truly loved the Lord, he was baptized at an early age and later accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, Kansas City, Missouri, where he served as a faithful, dedicated and devout member under the leadership of Bishop Daniel M. Jordan. He took his faith seriously and would often spend his lunch break and spare time
reading the Bible. His concern and compassion for others was evident in his daily actions. Charles lived a life that was truly blessed. He was born on September 21, 1960 and departed this life on December 11, 2022. He was preceded in death by former wife Martha (Allen) Johnson, his father James F. Johnson, Grandparents Tom and Laura Hatton of Sturgeon, Missouri, and
Buckner and Lora (Rowland) Johnson of Auxvasse, Missouri. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Judith (JJ) Johnson, Jacinda (Johnson) Rackins, Danielle Johnson, and Jamie Johnson; Grandchildren: Shaelynn and Tylah Johnson and
Jeremiah Crawford; Mother: Grace (Johnson) Wright; Three Brothers: James, Gary, and Jeffrey; Six Sisters: Phyllis (Wayne), Sharon, Teresa, Marcia, Carol (Mack), Donna (Rico); Uncle: Roger Hatton; Aunts: Bonnie Faye Wells, and Sheila Hernandez as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, and friends.
