Christina Marie Hopkins

"Christina Marie Hopkins—known to everyone as Chris—made her entrance into the world on June 5, 1963, in Edina, Missouri, preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn Louise Schempp and Larry W. Hopkins. A 1981 graduate of Blue Springs High School, Chris lived life on her own terms, with a spirit that was as fierce as it was loving. She was the life of any party, bringing laughter, energy, and an unforgettable presence wherever she went.

Chris worked in many places over the years, leaving her mark at Betty’s Diner, Coles, Hallmark, Hy-Vee, Ponderosa, Golden Corral, and as a bartender at a handful of bars along the way. She was never one to hold back—she spoke her mind, expected things to be done right (which often meant her way), and had a strong spirit that was second to none.

There was so much more to Chris than her work. She found joy in the pages of a good book, wearing out Heart and Bon Jovi CDs, and the spine-tingling thrill of a great horror movie. Her sharp wit, big heart, and larger-than-life personality made her truly unforgettable.

Chris leaves behind her daughter, Lauren Hopkins; her brothers, Jeff Hopkins, Larry “Spider” and Shirley Hopkins, and Sean Foster; nieces Samantha Hopkins and her son; Nicole and Jeremy Laffoon and their children; Trisha Coyne and her children; Whitney and Eric Findley and their children; and many beloved aunts and uncles."
