Darnell Lorenzo. Black. Was born January 31, 1990, at 6:35 PM to Victor L. Jones and Sherry Black in Kansas City, Missouri.
Darnell was educated in the Kansas City School District and graduated from Raytown South High School in 2008. He attended college for one year in Independence, MO. While in school, Darnell played football, basket-ball, and baseball. He always wanted to be a bold Jack-son.
He confessed the hope in Jesus Christ at a young age and was baptized under the leadership of his great grandfather, Reverend Elsie Seals at True Faith Missionary Baptist Church.
Darnell was a big guy physically. And. Ed Hart. His mom called him Big Baby because he always wanted to be under her period. He loved her very much and always wanted to be around her period. If you wanted to make him mad, MESS WITH HIS MOMMA.
Darnell loved to grill and would every day, If he could. He was always playing on his PlayStation and eating.
At the age of 23, he and his mother relocated to Las Vegas, where he worked at Google. In 2018, he returned to Kansas City due to his grandmother's health. He was currently employed at McCrary’s Lumber Company.
Darnell passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Jones, Robert McCormick, and Lillian Peters; great-grandparents, Rev. LC Seals, and Susie Seals; and Auntie, Kim Peters.
He leaves to celebrate his life his mother, Sherrie Black; father, Victor Jones; brothers, DerRon Black and Anthony Jones; special brothers, LeAndre “Dre” Boyd, Walter “Weezy” Graves, and Carlos “Los” Boyer; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday June 10, 2023, visitation will be held from 2 P.M. - 3 P.M. with the services beginning at 3 P.M. at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC 2800 East 18th st., Kansas City, Mo 64127.
