Darryl was born February 25, 1961 to Clifford “Cliff” Evans Sr. and Barbara June Withers-Evans in Lawrence, Kansas where he grew up. He passed away in his home of Eudora, Kansas on February 27, 2024.
He was loved by many who knew him. He was a lifelong mechanic who loved cars and motorcycles. He could always be found near a vehicle of some kind, no matter how many wheels it had. He owned and operated Evans Trucking out of Baldwin City, Kansas until 2010. He loved to play pool and be with friends and family. He was also a Kansas City Chiefs and University of Kansas Jayhawks fan and never missed watching or listening to a game.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Cheryl Evans and his brothers Clifford “Cliff” Evans Jr. and Douglas “Randy” Sr. He leaves behind four brothers: Greg (Annette) Evans of Lawrence, KS; Richard (Alpha) Evans of Lawrence, KS; Dana Evans of Tonganoxie, KS; Robin (Patty) Evans of Overbrook, KS and an unbiological brother: Mitch (Lorrie) Reeves of Eudora, KS. He also leaves behind four children: David Evans of Kansas City, KS; Chris (Kayte) Evans of Eudora, KS; Angela Evans of Seattle, WA; and Rachel (Dustin) Reese of Lawrence, KS. He leaves behind five grandchildren and one great grandchild: Hannah Reese, Hayden Reese, Christopher Evans Jr., Caleb Reese, Taylor Evans, and Aryla Free.
The family will have visitors for a celebration of life gathering to be held at 933 Iowa St in the banquet room of Wayne and Larry’s from 11:30AM-2:30PM on Saturday, March 16, 2024.
