Denzell Daryl Swan, DEE-DEE

Dee-Dee, also known as, (Kamila Marie), age 29, was born  Denzell Daryl Swan on December 20, 1992 in Kansas City,   Missouri to Nakiwa Kelley (Brown) and Evern Thrower Jr.

We lost Dee-Dee the early evening of July 24, 2022 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Dee-Dee attended school in the Hickman Mills School District and held jobs in entertainment and modeling. At an early age Dee-Dee transitioned into the LGBTQ Community traveling city to city singing, dancing and performing under the stage name, “Candise Monroe.” Dee-Dee won countless awards.

In 2019 Dee-Dee started a spiritual journey of enlightenment. She loved talking about Horoscopes, crystals and studying the stars. Dee-Dee also had a green thumb and loved to plant and grow flowers.

Dee-Dee was preceded in death by Evern Thrower Jr., father; Hannah Bangura & Jerrie Thrower, grandmothers; Dayne Thrower, uncle, and a slew of other loved ones. 

Dee-Dee leaves to cherish Beautiful memories, Nakiwa Kelley, mother; Charleston Kelley Sr., stepfather; Cecil Daryl Brown, and Evern Thrower Sr. (Linda), grandfathers; Markell Brown (Shanneshia), Vonzell Swan, Stephon Thrower (Kinesheya)   and Janvonte’ Williams, brothers; Charleston Kelley Jr., step-brother; Kyera Norris, sister; Tamika Young, Monshae Robinson, Carmalita Marsh, and Crystal Binder, aunts; Elgin Thrower, and Steven Brown, uncles; Makaylah Brown, Savannah Brown, Marlo Brown, and Kamari Thrower, nieces; Isaiah Martin, Zaire Swan, Jareth Binder, and Aziz Thrower, nephews; JeKiya Serell, JeKwon Serell, DaNiya Nelson and Audri’Hannah Phillips, cousins; There is simply not enough ink & paper to list all of the friends, & relatives that was loved and loved Dee-Dee in return.

Dee-Dee was known to be the life of the party with a spit fire attitude & the diva of the pack. Dee-Dee also loved to dance and have dance battles with her nieces and little cousins. Dee-Dee’s smile always brightened a room and will be truly missed.
