Diane Velena Brown (Jones) was born on September 19th,1952 two minutes after her identical twin sister, Anna M. Owens (Jones) to mother, Rebecca Fields (Jones) in Kansas City, MO. She was proceeded in death by Rebecca Fields (mother), Anna Belle Jones, (grandmother), John E. Brown Sr, (father -in- law), Freddie L. Brown (mother - in- law), and Marcus Foster and Stephan Owens (nephews).

Diane graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970 where she met her husband, Frederick Brown. She continued her education, graduating from Platte College which helped her to begin her career with the Federal Government as a typist. She participated in several classes and programs that helped her to further career and ended as a Benefit Authorizer for the Social Security Administration. She retired in 2005 due to health problems.

Diane had been a faithful member of Ward Chapel A.M.E. now Ward Chapel/ Cain Grant A.M.E. all of her adult life. She was known for her singing and service. She served on the Usher board, Steward Board, Church Secretary, Young Adult choir, Senior choir, Ward Singers and the Women's Missionary Society. She held many offices and was often the delegate for the Annual Conference that she attended regularly. Diane loved God, raising her children and grandchildren in the church working and serving the Lord.

Diane was born the second oldest of seven siblings: Anna Owens, Rita Brock, Cynthia McKinney, Charleen Fields, Harvey Fields and Michelle Fields (all surviving). Her siblings described her as loving, thoughtful, strong and a great personality. Diane remarried her husband, Frederick Brown November 18th, 2000 and remained a loving couple of God until her passing. They share two children, Shantel and John Brown. They aslo share four grandchildren: Steven, Joseph, Diamond and Jameson Brown (all surviving).

Diane also leaves to cherish her memory: John E. Brown Jr. (brother -in- law), Amber Brown (daughter- in- law), nieces and nephews, Cherese Jones, Carita Owens, Jenel Brock, William Brock. Kenneth Brock, Danience Moreland, Christopher Lawson and Brittany Lawson, several great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday December 21, 2024, visitation will be held from 10 A.M. - 11 A.M. with services beginning at 11 A.M. at Ward Chapel/ Cain Grant AME Church located at 2126 Prospect Ave Kansas City, Mo 64127.
