Born July 31, 1964 in Arkansas to Marvine T. Meeks.
Duane, his mother, and brothers traveled and lived in a few states before settling in Kansas City, Missouri. Duane was the oldest of four boys, Luwellyn Meeks, and Ernest Meeks, all preceded him in death. Duane went to KC Public schools, he graduated from Northeast High School. He was in ROTC and played sports
Duane married Brenda Anderson in September of 1986, and never divorced; she also precedes him in death.
Duane worked numerous jobs since the age of 15 until he got sick and was limited to working. Duane loved taking care of his mother before she passed away and was very family oriented when it came to his siblings. Anybody that knew Duane loved him. Duane was very outspoken and dependable; he took care of the people he loved. Duane enjoyed skating in his younger days and going to the movies. Duane would always make sure he kept all his cars up, if he wasn’t working, he was at a car wash cleaning his cars. Duane had never been sick until he caught Covid, shortly after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, he passed away January 23, 2024.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Dayniesha Meeks; brother, Sean Meeks; Nephew, Lucas Hall (Tamika), and Charleston Hall; nieces, DeAngela Hall, and Timmerly Hall, and a host of family and friends.
