Tony was born on May 10th 1964 in Kansas City Missouri to Lydia and Jesse Lopez.
Tony was educated at East High School. Tony was a proud “East High Bear” who enjoyed watching football games in the stands with his buddies.
Tony worked many jobs over his life. He truly was a skilled craftsman. A True Renaissance man, Tony did all types of handyman work all his life. Building up concrete stairs and foundations being one of his favorites. He also worked for the railroad for a time.
Among other skills, Tony hand made his loved ones Big wooden crosses for our yards and homes. Tony cooked Some Wonderful and authentic meals for his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Tony loved watching
The Chiefs with his family and talking smack on them other boys! It’s such a blessing Tony got to see our chiefs win 2 Super Bowl championships! Always protective and outspoken about his loved ones,
Tony loved hard. If he loved you, you knew he’d always have your back. Forever.
Tony’s Mother and Father , Lydia and Jesse, preceded him in death. We know he’s flying high with his Mama, Father, and other loved ones in Heaven. Tony was a devout Christian who taught his children to pray and then pray some more. He said he didn’t know anything really about Special prayers because he was just always praying.
Tony’s family left to cherish his memory are his 5 children Michael Vincent “Vin”, Samantha Rene “Sam Bear”, Kristy “NiciGirl”, Celia Hernandez, and John Percell. Tony’s 15 Grandchildren Kannon, Keely, Lance, Lela, Analysia, Bella, Julius “ Ju Ju”, Kaeto, Michael Jr., Leona, Cora, “King” Marcelo, Nova, Marleigh, Adrian “Tiny”, And One Great Granddaughter Daisy Kate Tony’s Siblings left with his memory Beatrice “BB”, Lydia “scooby”, and Richard “ Ricky”. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and cherished friends and ex spouses, Lori, Leticia, Rachel and Roxanne ,who tony still absolutely adored. If Tony ever loved you, he still loves you always.
Tony, Dad, Pops, Grandpa , you are deeply missed and loved forever and ever. You are imprinted onto our hearts and souls. We will live on for you Tony Mendoza Our Pops! In your memory, we continue to grow our babies and watch them thrive. We promise We will Be strong and Love each other. See You Later in Heaven! We will do our best to “dust off the sorrow” and “ eat a peach and breathe”as you told us to.
