Edwin Cox Sr.

Edwin Eugene Cox Sr., was born June 27, 1969   in Kansas City, Missouri to Willie Cox and Anna Richardson Cox.

“Gene” as he was affectionately known by family and friends, graduated from Paseo High School, Class of 1987. He was employed 27 years with the City of Kansas City, Solid Waste.

Edwin spent most of his free time loving on animals. He was partial to dogs and cats. He had a smile that would lighten up any dark room, his family will forever remember his distinguished laughter. He loved music and early in life, gained an interest in playing the guitar. 

His eternal rest was granted, Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Research Medical Center. He was  preceded in death by his only son, Edwin Cox Jr.; father, grandparents, Richard & Jamesetta  Richardson, and Andrew Griffin: and a loving cousin, Tracy Richardson.

Edwin leaves to cherish is memory, his daughter, Genice E, Cox; a loving mother, Anna Cox; a bonus daughter, Ronice Shelton; two brothers,   Michael J, Cox, and Billy Bass; five aunts, Glenda Jones, Rachelle Price, Mary Richardson, Cheryl Langford, and Karen Wells (David); three granddaughters, E'Niylah Cox, E'Nahjah Cox, and  E'Niylayjah Cox; two grandsons, Kayden Williams, and Jeremiah Cox; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
