Elza C. Goodwin

Elza Cornelius Goodwin earned his wings on August 28th, 2024. He was born November 23, 1938 in Mt. Olive, Mo to David Goodwin and Oneida Powell. He was a member of Christ Is The Answer Church for many years as Assistant Pastor. He started The Church of Israel in 2012 where he was Pastor Elza was a self-taught mechanic for over 50 years until his health began to fail him.

He was a bright Soul to be around, full of humor and a friendly smile. He was preceded in death by his parents, 12 Siblings, his first wife Frieda Goodwin and his second wife Curtise Goodwin, and two grandsons, DeAndre' Goodwin and Derrick. Wright.

He is survived by one sister Marcella Butler and one brother Donald Goodwin, four daughters Frieda Green (Marvell) Faith Goodwin, Toy, Josephs (Damian), Anita Sharp (Eugene) four Sons, John Cannon, Elzie Goodwin Jr., Ricky Goodwin, and David Goodwin; a host of grandchildren, the joy of his life, great grand Children, great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and long life family friends.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday September 14, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC 2800 East 18th St., Kansas City, Missouri 64127.
