Essie B. Williams was born on July 3, 1943, in Charleston, Missouri to Odie Paris Webster and Clara (Burnett) Webster. Essie B. grew up in rural Charleston, Missouri and there she attended Lincoln High School.

In 1965, Essie moved to Kansas City, Missouri and worked several jobs before acquiring a supervisory position as a Hospital Administrator for the State  of Missouri Department of Mental Health. After 31 years of service, Essie retired from her fulltime position and worked an additional 9 years, parttime  in Patient Admissions. She also held several other parttime positions with Macy’s, Dillard’s, and Research Medical Center.

Essie departed this life on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Research Medical Center. Her husband, Eugene Williams; son, Lynell Webster; parents, Clara and  Odie Webster; sister, Lousie Webster; and brothers, Walter Webster, and Elmo Webster all preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lorrie Webster, Anthony (Nyila) Webster and Sharon Williams, all of Kansas City, MO; sisters, Jenny  Latham of Cario, IL; brothers, Arthur Webster and Odie (Rosetta) Webster of Chicago, IL; grand-children, Lynell (Nicole) Diggs, Garron Briggs, Jarron (Darriauna) Briggs, Sydney Webster, Jordan Clardy, Tarron Briggs, Kyrah Clardy, Robert Williams III, Malique Webster, Arrica Williams and Anthony Webster Jr.; and a host of great-grand-children, nephews, nieces, devoted family members, and friends.
