Esterlyn Kiet Marcano

Esterlyn Kiet Marcano (née Diamante Navasca), age 40, affectionately known as Love Love, Mama Lablab, Lovely, or Kiet, passed to her rest surrounded by family on August 28, 2024, in Kansas City, MO, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on August 3, 1984 in Baguer, Libungan, Cotabato Philippines. Esterlyn was a devoted mother, caring wife, compassionate nurse, generous friend, a fun and wonderful sister and a loving daughter.

Esterlyn’s early education was at Plain View Elementary School, moving on to South Philippine Adventist College Academy where she finished high school. She pursued higher education in the field of nursing at Mindanao Sanitarium and Hospital College, Lyceum of Iligan Foundation and Colegio de Kidapawan. She dedicated her professional life as a nurse, a calling she fulfilled with compassion as she handled various roles including private duty nurse at Mindanao Sanitarium and Hospital in Iligan City, Philippines; Emergency Room nurse at Gingoog Adventist Hospital in Gingoog, Philippines; Delivery Room staff nurse in Rabia Hospital in Saudi Arabia; Medical Surgical staff nurse at Gensan Medical Center in General Santos City, Philippines and PCU nurse at Vista Medical Center in Waukegan, IL USA.

Esterlyn’s zeal for life was evident through her love for adventures, exploring new places and trying out culinary delights. She was an animal lover and was the official animal-namer of her family. She enjoyed expressing her creativity with make ups, singing karaoke, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.

She married her sweetheart Carlos Marcano on August 14, 2020. Being a mother was Esterlyn’s greatest adventure and joy. She was a doting mother to Eliam Sheen and Caleb. Spending time and playing with them gave her the most joy.

She loved Jesus and was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Gurnee, Illinois USA. She was grateful to God and the prayers of many that sustained her through her battle with cancer.

She is survived by husband Carlos Marcano; sons Eliam Sheen and Caleb; her parents, Ramon and Rosa Navasca; sister, Eugene Rose Hall (Shaun); brother, Ivan John Navasca (Hanle); and a large circle of relatives including aunties, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and her grandmother. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd Bryan Navasca.

Esterlyn will be remembered for her bubbly and adventurous spirit, strength, bravery and faith in Jesus Christ even in the face of cancer. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her and were impacted by her kindness and dedication.
