Ferdinand "Bill" Piggee Jr.

Ferdinand (Bill) Piggee Jr. was born March 15, 1933, in Hope, Arkansas. He was the youngest of seven children born to Ferdinand and Lula B. Piggee. Bill gave his life to Christ at an early age when he joined Rising Star Baptist Church in Hope, Arkansas. He then united with Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri where he faithfully served as a member of the Church. Bill attended school in Hope, Arkansas, where he graduated from Yerger High School in 1952. He then moved to Kansas City, MO where he later met and married Mrs. Joella Piggee. 

Bill worked at GEHA for 37 years and later retired. He also served in Air Force for four years as a cook. During Bill’s free time he loved to spend time with family and friends where everyone knows him as “Papa”. 

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Joella Piggee; Father Ferdinand Piggee; Mother Lula B. Piggee; Brother’s John (Clifford) Piggee, Andrew J. Piggee; Sisters Bonnie McFadden, Joetta Taylor, Sarah Hill.

His legacy of love and memories will be cherished by his Daughter; Carmon Fowler (Dale) of Kansas City, MO ; his only living sister Joanna Rice of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Grandchildren Aaron Eugene Dennis Jr (Kevona) of Kansas City, MO ,Dale (Boo) Fowler Jr (Emerald) of Los Lunas, NM, five great grandchildren ; Special Nephew Joseph Williams ; and host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday October 19, 2024, visitation will be from 9 A.M. - 11 A.M. with the service beginning at 11 A.M. at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC 2800 east 18th st., Kansas City, Missouri 64127.

Interment: Forest Hill Cemetery
