Narmie Ree Granville was born August 10, 1936, in Homer, Louisiana to Booker and Ruthie Miller She was the eleventh, and youngest of her siblings.
After the family relocated to Kansas City, Narmie attended Attic Elementary School and RT Cole High School where she graduated. She attended Penn Valley College where she received an Associate's degree in Applied Science, then she furthered her education and received her Bachelors’ degree in Career Education, where she taught at Phillips Elementary, Early Childhood education. She also worked at the Jackson County as a Case Worker.
At the early age of 16, she was introduced to a man named, Samuel Granville. She was so intrigued in how sharp he was dressed and that deep baron ton voice, saying, “how you’re doing” It was love at first sight for her and a few years later they were married. They married Dec. 13, 1955. To this union three sons were born, Jasper, Terry and Jeffrey.
Narmie was baptized in Jesus' Name and she and Samuel were filled with the Holy Ghost at the same time at 864 Spitlog in Kansas City, Kansas when Pastor L I Hornbeck was the Pastor. She was a member at the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ when James T. Alford was Pastor, and served as the correspondent secretary and program chair-person. Later, her husband was called of God to begin a Pastoral Ministry at Emmanuel Temple Pentecostal Church where they served for 37 years. She served well as a First Lady working by her husband 's side. She played the organ for several years; she was a great teacher, and wore many hats. She was a help to many women and men. She loved the Lord! She was a godly woman, full of faith, wisdom, and knowledge.
Mother Granville was very classy, a woman who loved wearing her hats. She was a seamstress, and her main hobbies were cooking and fishing. One of her favorite scriptures: Philippines 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Her favorite song: “If I can help somebody, then my living will not be in vain.”
Bishop Horace E. Smith, former Presiding Bishop of the Northwestern District Council gave her the title, “Queen of the District”. Bishop Granville retired from Pastoring in the year of 2020 where the family returned back to their home church, Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ under the current leadership of Bishop Daniel Chavis, Jr.
On December 13, 2022, Pastor Samuel and Mother Narmie celebrated 67 years of Holy Matrimony. Mother Narmie transitioned into glory to forever be with the Lord on Saturday, December 30, 2022. Her parents, ten older siblings, and youngest son, Jeffrey T. Granville preceded her in death.
