Fred Scott Lunde

Fred Lunde was born on January 27, 1958, in Watertown, South Dakota, to Vida Ann Isles and Roy H. Lunde. As a young boy, his parents divorced, and his mother later remarried Anthony William "Bill" Bischoff.

Fred passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, at Research Medical Center, with his family by his side.

Though he did not have a high school diploma, Fred was a hardworking and skilled tradesman. Over the years, he mastered various trades, including roofing, carpentry, drywall, masonry, and electrical work. If a job was possible, he would take on the challenge.

Fred is survived by his two daughters, Tamara (Tammy) Moore and her husband Mark Moore of Kansas City, MO, and Chrystal Lunde and Ian McIntyre of Independence, MO. He was a proud grandfather to his two granddaughters, Joslyn and Samantha. He is also survived by his sister, Garnet Simmons of Preston, MO, and his brother, Jon Lunde, and his wife Mary Lunde of Orrick, MO, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Fred had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, boating, swimming, hunting, and mushroom hunting. He also loved working with leather, creating saddlebags and other handcrafted items for his motorcycles. Above all, he cherished time with his family, friends, and extended family.

Known as Dad, Papa, Fred, Scott, or his most cherished nickname, "Fish Head Fred," he was happiest when fishing. If the weather was nice, you could find him at a fishing hole with Poppa Bischoff or anyone else eager to join.

Fred had an undeniable love for motorcycles and classic cars, especially rebuilding them. Whether it was a Harley, Triumph, or an old Indian, he loved the roar of the engine and the feeling of the open road. A true free spirit, he lived for the thrill of riding—whether with friends, family, or alone. One of his fondest memories was the year he traveled to Sturgis to experience the famous motorcycle rally.

Fred was a strong, stubborn, and big-hearted man—so much so that it seemed he was made of iron and would live forever. He faced and overcame many challenges throughout his life, including beating cancer and surviving car and motorcycle accidents.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vida Ann Bischoff and William "Bill" Bischoff; his father, Roy Lunde; his sisters, Melody Lunde Bentley and Marsha Lunde Trout; his nephew, Michael Lunde; and his nieces, Joni Lunde and Mary Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
