Later Jan, his second wife brought her five children into his life: Gordon, Gary, Rebecca, Bruce and Victoria. Gene spent thirty years as an economist with the federal government in the Bureau of Labor Statistics and US Marine Corps in Kansas City until he retired. Gene was active in Kiwanis and delivered Meals on Wheels weekly until the pandemic changed everything. Gene moved back to Kansas City in October, 2022 but his love for the Village never ended. He is survived by his very large family, his best friend since first grade, Dick Berr, and his many HSV friends. Gene’s Celebration of Life will be on December 6th, at 2:00 pm, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Interment will be in the church’s memorial garden with his beloved Jan. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Holy Trinity in his memory. (NOTE: The service time has changed from the Family’s previous post.)
