Georgia was the third child of fourteen born to Jewell and Bertha Nixon in Kansas City, Kansas.

Georgia was educated in the Kansas City School District, and graduated from Lincoln High School class of

1967.She furthered her education and graduated from Lincoln University with a degree in Biology.

Georgia worked for the City of Kansas City Missouri at the Kansas City Health Department and retired

from there after 40 years of service. She also retired from the US Army Reserves where she served 27 years

as a Dental Hygienist (Sergeant 1st Class). Georgia had a great love for all genres of music, especially

classical music which she developed at a young age while playing the Violin.

Georgia is preceded in death by her parents, Jewell and Bertha Nixon; paternal grandparents, Earl and

Elnora Nixon; maternal grandparents, Hamp and Georgia Mullins; uncle, Troy Mullins (Aunt Lillie);

four sisters, Bertha Lee, Ruthie Mae, Toni Antoinette, and Betty Jewell; and brother, David Matthew;

nephew, Phillip Montgomery; great nephews, Brendon Lavell and Christopher Scoggins; and a

dearly loved cousin, Helen Stinnett.

 

Georgia will leave a legacy of memories and love and will definitely be missed by her son, Farad Nixon;

grand-children, Farrah, Zakeria, and Sensire; great-grandson, and Isaiah A.K.A “CHUNKS” whom she

enjoyed and loved; four sisters, Alene Elnora, Reva Ann (Bobby) Renita Faye (Charles), and Winifred Rene;

four brothers, Jewel Jr, Charles, Kevin, and Llewellyn; two aunts, Thelma Jones, and Wanda (Van)

Ervin of Kansas City, Kansas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will greatly

miss her as well.
