Kansas City, MO (1959-2024) Geovani Delacruz a Cuban-American, born in Guanabacoa, Cuba. He attended a boarding school called Israel González before he officially arrived in the United States alone in the 1980s, with Spanish as his primary language. He was a hard worker at heart. He eventually found himself working at well known companies including the USPS Post Office and The Kansas City Star. He always thought of his family when it came to money. He was surrounded by some of those same loved ones when he passed away on September 22, 2024.
He was a fighter by nature. A lover by heart. A true family man in every sense of the word. A loving father. A wonderful grandpa. A very missed, loved and respected brother to his siblings back in Cuba. He is preceded in death by his parents Isabel Montey López and José Martínez Álvarez as well as his siblings Fabiana Palenzuela Montey, José de Jesús Montey Martínez, Wilfredo Monjiote Montey, Noelia Monjiote Montey. He leaves behind three children, Kristina Davidson, Lazaro Delacruz, and Reyna Sutphin and four grandchildren, Andre, Sebastian, Maliya, and Romeo. He also leaves behind his siblings in Cuba, Dora Martínez Montey, Iván Serapio Martínez Montey, and Marta Elena Cárdenas Montey.
His life and legacy will be honored on November 2, 2024 at 1 pm. Please join us in celebrating the life of Geovani, whether you are in the United States or Cuba, his light shall always remain.
