James B. Posey

James B. Posey was born December 26th, 1955 in Tuscaloosa AL to Charles B. Posey and Martha N. Posey. Following graduation from high school James enlisted in the Army’s 101st Airborne where he proudly served his country. James often would recollect this time as some of his happiest memories. Following his time in the armed forces James attended Evangel University in Springfield MO. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science in 1985 and received an additional degree in Secondary Education in 1995. 

James married Denise Rae Posey (Newell) on March 16, 1991. Together they raised two wonderful children who were what he believed to be his greatest accomplishment. James loved sports, especially playing football. He was a lifelong devoted fan of his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide and Miami Dolphins. James had many interests, many of which included reading and discussing history.

James was always learning and teaching. James departed this life surrounded by those he loved on February 14, 2025. His parents, grandparents, and other beloved family preceded him in death. James leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Denise, son, Taylor Posey, daughter, Megan Posey, brother, David (Kim) Posey, sister Noleen Posey, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
