Jill Ayn Crosby

Jill Ayn Crosby, aged 55, died peacefully at St. Luke's Hospice House, in Kansas City, MO surrounded by family on April 1, 2025 at 9:08 p.m.

Jill Crosby was born April 1, 1970 in St. Louis, MO, to Mary and Neil Crosby. She received her education at Grandview High School, Class of 1988, in Grandview, MO. She worked numerous jobs throughout her lifetime, notably, as a bartender at Fitzimmons in her earlier years and, most recently, at First Student, formerly Applebus, as a bus driver for the Ray-Pec School District for over 10 years. However, most importantly, she was a loving mother to her four children: Trevor, Jacob, Dylan, and Dustin.

Jill Crosby will be forever remembered for her passion and dedication to both her work and her four boys. Known for her fun-loving, free-spirited personality, Jill loved hosting events from house parties to late-night karaoke sessions at the bar. She was a strong-willed and independent woman who overcame many hardships in her life, including surviving breast cancer as a single mother—she was a true fighter. Jill embraced many hobbies and loved expressing her creativity through many projects and crafts, often extending this love for creativity with family and friends. Her strength, compassion, and sense of humor touched the hearts of all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Alice (Simmons) Crosby, in 1984, and her father, Howard Neil Crosby, in 2005. She is survived by her four children: son Trevor Joseph Crosby, son Jacob Neil Crosby, son Dylan Paul Crosby, and son Dustin Lee Crosby; her three siblings: brother Howard Scott Crosby, brother Steven Wade Crosby, and brother Timothy John Crosby; as well as long-time friends, her father's loving partner Melanie Ann (Lechner) Taylor, and the father of Dylan and Dustin, Leslie Paul Hunt.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Rock Brook Church, 1715 173rd St, Belton, MO in the second building on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 11a.m. to 1p.m.
