JoAnne W. Rasheed

JoAnne was born January 30, 1941in Kansas City, Kansas to Ruthel Pennington and Charles Charleston.

JoAnne was educated in the Kansas City, Kansas school district. She later received her CNA and continued her life working as a home health aide.

JoAnne met and married Ivan McGee Sr.,  and they were blessed with four children, Regina Green, Marsha Jackson, Ivan McGee Jr., and Steven McGee. The marriage was  dissolved.

JoAnne later married Saleem I. Rasheed who   continued life’s journey with her as a great partner and friend.

She was such a beautiful spirit and displayed her beauty in crafting, sewing, elephant collecting and scrapbooking.

JoAnne departed this life on Monday, February 6, 2023. Her parents, Ruthel & Charles; grand-mother, Effie Pennington; brothers, Mark Smith, Kevin  Smith, Stephen Smith, and Roosevelt Wilkins Jr., and son, Ivan McGee Jr., all preceded her in death.

JoAnne leaves to cherish her memory, one son,  Steven; two daughters, Regina and Marsha; sisters, Marsha Elow, Gwendolyn Spence, and Wanda Boyd; brother, Anthony Smith, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family, and love ones.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday February 16, 2023

Visitation will be from 10 A.M. - 12 P.M. Service begin at 12 P.M.
