Kenneth Lee Mosby

Kenneth Lee Mosby was born on March 7, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Benjamin and Floretta Mosby. He passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024, at his home. Kenneth completed his education in the Kansas City public school district and graduated from Central High School in the class of 1971. Embracing Christianity, Kenneth was baptized on October 12, 2014, at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri, under the leadership of Pastor Artist L. Taylor.

He actively participated in the music ministry "A Few Good Men" at the church until his passing. Dedicating 42 years of his life to the Union Pacific Railroad, Kenneth retired in 2016. An enthusiastic sports fan, he passionately supported the Oklahoma Sooners and the Kansas City Chiefs. Kenneth was also a proud member of the brotherhood club, The Royal Gents. His early passion for art remained with him throughout his life.

In 1988, Kenneth found the love of his life, and on March 31, 2001, they entered into holy matrimony. He was a devoted family man to his daughters, Quetta and Trisha, as well as his grandchildren Jasmine, Kinsey, and Xavier, and great-grandchildren Joey and Jayla. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Floretta Mosby, sister Martha Mosby, daughter Latrisha Moore, and best friend RT Slaughter Jr.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Alice Denise Mosby; daughter La’Quetta Neal of Houston, TX; granddaughters Jasmine Moore of Kansas City and Kinsey Neal of Houston, TX; grandson Xavier Moore; great-grandchildren Joseph (Joey) and Jayla Chaney; sister Sheila Mosby; Uncle Johnny Downton (Yvonne); Special longtime friend Robie White Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will cherish his memory.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 13, 2024, visitation will be from 9 A.M. - 10 A.M.  at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church located at 3027 E 25th st. Kansas City, Missouri 64127.

Interment will be at XII Gates , Kansas City, MO.
