Lenno Porter, 79, was born on May 25, 1943, to Mansfield and Vernestine Porter in Kansas City, Missouri. 

Lenno accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Stephen Baptist Church under the late John W. Williams.  He was

active in the Drum and Bugle Corps.

Lenno attended Attucks and Lincoln High School.  He furthered his education at Rockhurst College. Lenno joined the US

Marine Corps in 1960 and was aboard ship during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. After his duty, he was Honorably

Discharged in 1964. Lenno was employed at Ford Motor Company in Claycomo and kept himself busy doing other odd jobs.

 

Lenno met Linda Weaver and they were united in marriage. This union was blessed with two beautiful children.

Lenno enjoyed bowling, playing Dominos, and he loved to shoot pool. He later became ill and moved from Jacksonville,

Florida back to Kansas City to live. He was cared for by his brother, and niece, Jacinda Porter.

Lenno departed this life on Saturday, November 19, 2022. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and sister,

Euragene Porter Nelson. 

 He leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Kevin Porter, and Jason Porter of Dallas Texas; six grandchildren; three brothers,

Richard, Moe, and James Porter; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

 

Internment : Leavenworth National Cemetery

Burial will take place on Wednesday December 14, 2022 at 11A.M. at Leavenworth National Cemetery
