Leon LeRoy Masterson

Leon Leroy Masterson passed away November 8, 2023. He was born March 3, 1946, in Kansas City to Ralph and Elaine Masterson.
Leon was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri school district. He attended Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School during segregation, he graduated from Paseo High School in 1964.

Leon served four years in the U.S. Air Force before getting his Bachelor of Science degree from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri where he was also a DJ on KLUM. He enjoyed jazz, family gatherings, golf, and being a member of The Omega Psi Phi fraternity.

He was preceded in death by both parents, Son; Brandon Masterson, His beloved sister; Cordelia, and brothers; Clarence and Ivan.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters; Cherine Masterson of Texas, Monica Lomax (Clarence), Sons; Kendall Banks of Louisiana, and Carlos Masterson. 9 Grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, Brother; Ralph Masterson of Florida, Sister; Norma Masterson, a host of family and lifelong friends.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday November 28, 2023 at 3 P.M. at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC 2800 East 18th St. KCMO 64127.
