Leroy A. Booker

The Daylight of Leroy A Booker began March 22,1955 in Kansas City, Missouri to parents, Gladys (Taylor) Booker and Calvin Booker. Leroy was raised in the greater Kansas City area where he attended Central High School. After high school, Leroy joined the Marine Corps where he served as a Lance Corporal, achieving an award for being an excellent marksman sharpshooter.  He was proud that the military gave him the opportunity to travel the world.

After returning from the military, Leroy and Ms. Arnita Cotton welcomed two sons, Jermaine and Jason Booker. Leroy was of service to Kansas City in many capacities.  He worked for KU Medical Center, several construction companies, manufacturing companies, and before retiring he worked on the rebuilding of the New KCI airport.

Leroy accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. He felt the calling of Jesus Christ and attended Western  Baptist Bible College in 2013; he was ordained by Pastor Johnson of The First Baptist Church in Liberty, Missouri. Leroy later went on to Pastor the Second Baptist Church in Glasgow, Missouri.

Leroy transitioned to glory on Friday, May 5, 2023. He  will reunite in glory with his wife, Tracy; parents, Calvin
and Gladys Booker; brothers, Leon and Richard; sisters, Charlene and Sheila Hurt; four brothers in-law, Jesse Collins Jr., Damon Pearson, Maurice Cason, and Eddie Hurt, and nephew. Calvin Booker.

Leroy leaves in God's loving care his sons, Jermaine (Chaya), and Jason (Jessica); six beautiful grand-children, Omira, Jermaine II,   Jericho, Jasmine, Jason and  Journie Booker; one uncle, Spencer Taylor; four sisters, Gladys Collins, Joyce Pearson, Betty Booker and Shirley Harbor; two brothers, Micah Booker and Calvin Booker; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 1, 2023 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church 2747 Cleveland Ave., Kansas City, Mo 64128

Visitation will be from 9 A.M. - 10 A.M.        Service begins at 10 A.M.

Burial will be on Friday June 2, 2023 at 10 a.m.  Leavenworth National Cemetery

Family will be meeting at Golden Gate at 8:45 A.M. and leaving at 9 A.M.
