Levelt Kelly Jr. was born on January 13, 1942 to Marmetta and Levelt Kelly Sr. in Kansas City, MO. He was the oldest of 3 children.He was preceded in death by his parents Marmetta and Levelt Kelly Sr., brother Luther Kelly and sister Hettie Ford.
Levelt attended Tulsa Public Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1957. He joined the United States Marine Corp serving in the Vietnam war and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1967. Levelt lived and worked several years in the state of California. He returned to the state of Missouri where he was employed as an engineer for the City of Independence which he retired from in 2000. After retirement Levelt spent his remaining years in Kansas City, MO where he enjoyed playing the guitar at the Guiding Star Missionary Baptist Church. Levelt was a man of many talents.
Levelt gained his wings on December 20, 2023 at Ignite Medical Resort in Blue Springs, MO. Levelt was a loving son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and friend. He left his mark wherever he went. He never met a stranger.
Levelt leaves to cherish his memory, his companion Willie Kelly, daughters Raychon D. Jones (Palmer), LeVanna L. Kelly, and Marie Kelly, son LaMichael Kelly (Jlynn), five grandchildren, and a host of relatives and loving friends.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 20, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at Guiding Star Missionary Baptist Church 3035 N 27th St. Kansas City, Kansas 66104.
