Mark Lee Tatum Jr was born on January 17, 1955, in Kansas City, Missouri to Mark Lee Tatum Sr. and LaPearl (Haugh) Tatum.
Mark was educated at Lincoln High School. He served in the Army where he was honorably discharged in 1975. He retired from the Kansas City Poster Company. Mark became an ordained Minister in 2001. After retirement, he worked at Walmart and Lamar’s
Donuts. Mark was currently a student at Kansas City Kansas Community College working on a degree in Substance
Abuse. He was a lover of music and in his spare time enjoyed playing music on Paltalk.
He departed this life on June 20, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, wife, Norma
Jean (Bell) Tatum, son, Mark Lee Tatum III, aunt, Lillian Gray, special cousins, Thareatha “Tiny” Gray,
and Tomika “Missy” Roberts and special friend, Glenn “Bernard” Pearson.
Mark leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Marchand (Damon) Jenkins; stepson, John (Bridgett)
Childs; long-time life partner, Lisa Thompson-Brown; grandchildren, Derrick Childs, Ebony
Christmon, Calandra Childs, Alicia Childs, Damon Jenkins Jr., D´Miyah
Jenkins, Khayman Tatum, Isabella Tatum and Aniyah Tatum; eight greatgrandchildren, and a host of uncles,
aunts, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday July 6, 2023, Visitation will be held from 2 P.M. - 3 P.M. Services will begin at 3 P.M. at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC 2800 East 18th st., KCMO 64127.
