In Loving Memory Mary Ellen (Johnson Gordon) Zimmerman April 25, 1939 – December 11, 2024 Mary was born to John & Ava (Fohn) Johnson in Buckner, MO. She was a graduate of Fort Osage HS in 1957. Her early years were in California until she moved back to Missouri and began starting her family. During motherhood, she was a homemaker that loved being a Momma and friend. She spent that time being a teacher, nurse, referee, singer, dancer and storyteller. Not to mention she made the best meatloaf, potato salad and iced tea.
As her children grew, so did her life. She began working outside the home where she would later retire from General Motors; became a grandmother, great & great great grandmother. She loved studying the bible but also enjoyed bowling, fishing, vacations, cruises, Elvis and Bob Ross. But Mary’s greatest treasure was her family.
She was preceded in death by her father & mother, her siblings Richard Johnson, Shirley McDonald and Patty Stuck all near Kansas City metro. Her family members include 3 daughters Barbara Quick, Deborah Gordon and Glenda Gordon, 1 daughter-in-law Robyn Burger (deceased), 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 4 great, great grandchildren, and several grand furbabies, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mom / Greaty will always be cherished and forever missed. She can now sleep sweet and we will see her in Paradise.
