Matthew Carroll Millard

Matthew C Millard, of Kansas City, MO, died 8 days shy of his 65th birthday. He grew up in Prairie Village, KS and attended St. Ann’s grade school, Rockhurst High School and graduated from SM East in 1976. He received the Harry Rode Real Estate award from the Cox School of Business upon his graduation from Southern Methodist University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate, Finance and Accounting. Matthew was well versed and accomplished in all facets of commercial and residential real estate working for nearly 30 years in the industry for MetLife, Archon Financial/Goldman Sachs, San Mateo Homes, MCM Enterprises and Lexicon Corp. He most recently worked for Morgan-Wightman Supply Co. since 2018. Before he started his professional career he was a wildland firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service in the Pacific Northwest.

Matthew was predeceased by his parents Richard Ford Millard Sr. and Ann Swift Millard, as well as his sister Mary. He is survived by his daughter, Rachael C Millard and his siblings Karen DeMuth, Richard F Millard Jr., Ellen McKenna and Sarah McNeill.

Matthew was passionate about celebrating life through music and dance. His love of the outdoors was kindled in his early 20s with an experience in the Outward Bound program. An avid sportsman, Matthew met many kindred spirits hiking, skiing and adventuring throughout the United States.
