The “QUEEN” Mellodie, born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri , to mother Toni Akins & Father Richard Woods.
She received her education at Southeast High School.
Mellodie passed peacefully from this life the morning of February 29th, 2024 after a gradual decline in health.
Mellodie had a smile so bright could light up a room. Very outgoing, courageous, and feisty.
Loved by all who encountered her!
Mellodie is preceded in death by her Grandmother Thelma Wiley; Grandfather, Medford Wiley; Two brothers, Richard Woods & Ricky Rock. Cousin (Brothers), Dion Wiley Sr. and Dion Wiley Jr.
Mellodie leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Toni Akins; father, Richard Woods. Her spouse, David Anderson; Her children, Robert Woods(Torvonna), Darrell Woods, Sharrell Powell, Raquell Ray (Keshia) Dashae Anderson, Keyeria Sowell(Cliff), All of Kansas City, Mo.
Her siblings - 1 sister, Angelina Rock, 8 brothers, Charles, Anthony “Raz”, Franco, Delchaun, Deangelo and Quincy. Her beloved grandchildren Aunesty, D’Aivion, LaiAnah, Robert Jr., KeyAsia, Kashmir”Kash”, Ar’Mani, King, Rokko, Jada and Rylan. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins close friends and family.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday March 9, 2024, visitation will be held from 9 A.M. - 10 A.M. with services beginning at 10 A.M. at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC 2800 East 18th st., KCMO 64127.
