Michael Duane Jensen

Michael (Mike) D. Jensen, 70, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, surrounded by family in Overland Park, Kansas. Born on September 3, 1954, to the late Jacob Nels Jensen and Agnes Louise Jensen, Mike lived a life filled with love, service, and dedication. He was married to Cathy Jensen for 44 years, and together they established their home in Rogers, Arkansas, for 25 years before settling in Overland Park to be closer to their daughter Megan Ladwig and grandchildren Jaxon and Kylie Ladwig.

Mike was a proud veteran, serving his country with honor in both the U.S. Army and the National Guard. His commitment to service reflected his unwavering sense of duty and patriotism. An avid golfer, Mike found joy and camaraderie on the golf course, whether playing a round with friends or watching the pros on TV. He cherished the challenges of the game and the friendships it nurtured, always with a laugh and a competitive spirit.

Mike was also a passionate Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan. Sundays were devoted to cheering for the team, and he proudly wore his Chiefs' red, sharing the highs and lows of the season with fellow fans. His enthusiasm for the teams and the memories created along the way will live on in the hearts of those who shared in his excitement.

Mike’s legacy is one of kindness, laughter, and loyalty. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his brother, Dan Jensen of Mesa, Arizona; his sister, Vicki O'Dell of Neosho, Missouri; and his brother, Randy Jensen of Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Kansas City Hospice House.
