Mr. James Wells was born July 7, 1925 in Edwards Mississippi to Lillie Bell Mason Wells and Johnny Joe Wells. Mr. James Wells received his education in Edwards Mississippi. He worked at Griff Crawford Car lot until he became disabled to work. 

 In 1948 he married Claudia Lee Williams and to this union 14 children were born. 

 He enjoyed cars, cooking, listening to blues, dancing, family gatherings, having fish fries with his baby sister & brother (Joe) hanging at Troost Lake, you never seen one without the other. He loved sharing his wisdom with family & friends.

Mr. James Wells departed this life on February 27, 2024 at the age of 98. 

 Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia Lee Wells; daughters, Maxine Wells, Thelma Wells, Vivian Wells, Rena Wells, Dicey Wells; son, Lorenzo Wells; grandchildren, Dorinda Wells, Lamont Wells, Precious Williams, Joanne Russell; great grandchildren, Maxwell Hill, Oscar Ward III, Curtis Lenard III; great great grandchildren, Sai'Yora Stone; parents, Johnny Joe and Lillie Bell Wells; and siblings, Aline Ross, Emma Thomas, Martha Bell Bradley, Jessie Henry Mason, Gloria Mae Wells, Joe Wells Jr., Bernice Carter, Johnell Wells, Curly Lee Wells.

 Mr. James Wells leaves to cherish his memory sons, James Wells Jr. (Debra) Terrence (Sonya) Wells, Walter (Wilma) Wells, Jeffery Anderson all from Kansas City, MO. Daughters, Johnnie Lee of Memphis, Claudia Hall of Washington, Erma (Jerome) Darensburg of Dallas, Ernestine Wells, Carolyn (Zearl) Kinchelow, Shirley Wells, Wendy Anderson, Robbin (Jimmy) Williams, and Linda Anderson all of Kansas City, MO. Sisters, Mary Lee Lawson of Kansas City and Bertha Mae Wells of Dallas; 55 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren, 35 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces,nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. He will be sorely missed, but his legacy will live on.
