Willie Melvin Hill "Dubug" was born August 3, 1928 in Homer, Louisiana to James Hill and Ethel Wood.
Willie received his formal education from the Homer Louisiana School District. He played organized football for his high school team. Upon graduation,
Willie moved to Kansas City, Missouri and worked as a construction worker. He was known for being a hard worker.
On October 6, 1948, Willie married the girl of his dreams, Leola Stovall and enjoyed fifty-two years of a blissful love story. Their union was blessed with ten children, five boys and five girls. Leola preceded him in death.
Willie loved the Lord and his family. He attended Redemption Church Of God In Christ under the leadership of Pastor Thuston Packnet, Sr.
Willie transitioned to Glory on Sunday morning, April 3, 2022 at the age of 93. God blessed him with longevity. His wife, parents, two sons, Russel Hill Sr., and Michael Hill Sr.; and one daughter, Shirley Meyers all preceded him in death.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories: three sons, Billie Hill, Ronald Hill, and Gary Hill; four daughters, Alice Campbell, Cynthia (Prescott) Taylor, Stephanie (Emmanuel) Holder, Veronica (Anthony) Mclin; 30 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great - grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Larry Carter; one uncle-in-law, Eddie Watts and a host of other family.
