Patrice Michelle Gates

Patrice Michelle Gates was born December 22, 1971 in Kansas City, MO., to the union of Charles E. Gates Jr. and Gwendolyn Watkins. Patrice accepted Christ and baptized at an early age. She enjoyed church and singing in the choir. Patrice pursued a career in the nursing field and was employed as a CNA for over 19 years. Her kind hearted and compassionate nature and always putting other's first made her a perfect match for nursing . Patrice was employed at Kingswood Senior Living. She enjoyed the residents and coworkers alike. Patrice loved everyone and everyone loved her.

When she was gone the residents would ask , 'Hey where's that girl that's always singing?" Patrice continued working never revealing she was battling serious health issues. Megan Kelly, her former Director of Nursing described Patrice as a 'very hard worker who never complains .'

Patrice had a strong faith and love for family and friends, encouraging others despite her illness. Patrice loved bold colors. She had a passion for fashion and truly brought meaning to 'shop til you drop'. Just about everyone had to call it quits on any of Patrices shopping excursions. (her favorite past-time). Even she loved fashion, she was also quite passionate about football, her favorite player was Chiefs Isiah Pacheco. Patrice would yell and call out plays like a sports caster. As you can see no one was like Patrice and we all feel blessed for knowing and loving her. Thank you God for blessing us all with Patrice.

Patrice passed away December 11,2024 at Research Medical Center surround by her family, close friends, and pastoral. Patrice leaves to cherish her memory, 3 sons: Steven Smith ( Brandie), Maurice Gates Gates(Rochelle), Marvin Gates, her parents: Gwendolyn & Roger Buckner, her sister Shauna Gates, Watkins Family: Aunt Gloria , Cousins (that were like her siblings: Angela, Dorothy, Malcom, Adoria) Half Bothers: Ronald and Charles Gates, Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews. Close friends: ReRe, Carol Shockley (like her sisters) Gavon Williams. Special Neice: Spirit Gates, Rachel Looney, Floyd Looney Jr.,and host if famiky and friends.

Patrice was preceded in death by her father Charles E. Gates, brother Chester Clarence Gates and both grandparents.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 20, 2024, services will begin at 11 A.M. at Memorial Church International 11424 Hickman Mills Dr. Kansas City, Mo 64134

Interment: Forest Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo
