Robert Douglas Moore, affectionately known as “Dougie” was born June 12, 1955 in Kansas City, Kansas to Robert Moore and Annie Cole
Robert D. Moore was educated at Sumner High School in Kansas City, Kansas. He worked various jobs as a landscaper and in the restaurant field. Robert loved working with his hands, he loved making custom made walking canes made of good quality wood. Robert liked to take long walks, he enjoyed traveling, and fine dining.
Robert had a special love for church, he attended Victorious Life for many years and was active in the men’s ministry, he recently attended New Inspiration Word of God Church under the leadership of Pastor Angela Hollins. He loved music and dancing, he was always singing songs, he spent a lot of time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Robert Moore met Pearl Davis in 2006, and they married on November 11, 2007. Robert had seven steps children, Robert Herbert, Demetra Weston, Sharon Dunnell, Reginald Herbert, Dennis Watson, Lolita Watson, and Keyna Lemay, all whom he loved very much, that marriage was later dissolved by the death of Mother Pearl Davis
Moore. Robert Moore later met Gaynell Harris, they were married April 15, 2018, to that union came two stepchildren Tyrone Harris
and Ramona Harris.
Robert departed this life on February 09, 2024. His parents, Robert Moore and Annie Moore: sisters, Marlena Magnanet and Demetra Lee; brothers, Paul Moore, Dennis Moore, and Timothy Moore; ex-spouse, Pearl Davis; grandparents, Arlene Cole, Ross Cole, Jesse Moore, and Joanna Moore; Uncles, Irby Moore and Johnny Moore preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his precious wife Gaynell Harris Moore, his stepchildren, grandchildren, his siblings, Joanne Gibson (Ben) of Texas, Ada Moore (Michael) of Kansas City, KS, Decima Neil (Tyrone) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Calvin Moore of Kansas City, MO. Robert Herbert, Demetra Weston, Sharon Dunnell (Wilbur), Reginald Herbert, Dennis Watson, Lolita Watson, and Keyna Lemay (Richard). His aunts, Clara Moore and Jamie Reed, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a special nephew, John Corvins Jr AKA JC, and a godmother Vivian Cordwell.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday April 11, 2024 at 3 P.M. at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC 2800 East 18th St. Kansas City, Mo 64127.
