Roger D. Davis Jr. was born in Sikeston, MO to Roger Dale Davis and Flora Jean Davis-Williams on March 3, 1971.

 

He attended elementary, middle school and majority of high school in Charleston Missouri. Roger attended and graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended Central Missouri State University, pledged his brotherhood with Phi Beta Sigma and he enlisted in the Marine Corp.

 

Roger was highly creative in drawing, dancing, and music compositions. He had a very artistic flare. He was an amazing bowler and had a style of his own. You knew by the roll of the ball that it was going to be a strike just in his stance. He worked in many different areas throughout his life and has always maintained  employment to provide for his family that he dearly loved. He spent most of his adult life in Bloomington Illinois where he met and  married Jeanette the marriage was later ended but from that union, he was blessed with four beautiful children. Roger returned to Kansas City Mo to assist his sister after the death of her husband. He resided in Kansas City until his untimely death. Roger D. Davis Jr. gave his life to Christ at an early age while attending Opportunity Church of God in Christ in Charleston, Missouri then under leadership of Elder Charles Betts. He was a part of the quartette and was an all-around Bible scholar. He later attended Good News Temple Pentecostal Church of Kansas City, MO under the leadership of Bishop Morris Brown Sr.

Davis Jr. is preceded in death by: Flora Jean Davis-Williams (Mother), TC Williams Sr. (Stepfather), Sherman Dean (Stepfather), Jim Andrews Sr. (Maternal Grandfather), Orean Andrews (Maternal Grandmother), Fannie Davis-Andrews (Paternal Grandmother)Roger D. Davis Jr. “D-Rod” leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Ja’Aira Orean Deanna Davis, of Illinois, son Rajair Malachi Dalon Davis of Illinois, daughter Haryln Ziona Davis of Illinois son Roger Dale Davis III of Illinois, His father Roger Dale Davis Sr. (Mary) of Inkster MI, aunt Imogene Samuels of Kansas City, MO, his sisters Angela Haynes (Dennis) of Peoria Ill, Dalerecia Diuguid(Aaron) of Woodhaven MI, Keshia May of Raytown, MO, and Nikea Dean-Washington of Independence, MO, his brothers Roger Davis Jr. (LaShonda)of Detroit MI, Corie Davis (Robyn) of  Bloomington IL, TC Williams Jr. (Nina) of McKinley TX. With a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends.

 

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday October 27, 2023 at 12 Noon. Services will be held at DAV Hall 14605 E. US Hwy 40, Kansas City, MO 64136.
