Ronald Fultz

Ronald Dean Fultz, 84, passed peacefully from this world on August 17th, 2023, in North Kansas City, Missouri. Ron was born on April 23rd, 1939, to Orville and Sarah (Botkin) Fultz in Atchison, Kansas. He was one of nine children and grew up in Kansas City, where he continued to live for most of his life. Ron enjoyed spending time with his siblings and later, with their
spouses, children, and grandchildren. The family often gathered to celebrate holidays and swim in the summer and Ron liked to be the first one there.

Ronald met Maxine MacAllister in 1978 through mutual friends. They went on to get married in 1979 and have one son together. Ron worked for Armco Steel for over 17 years before becoming self-employed, remodeling homes around Kansas City and making friends everywhere he went. He did fantastic work, and everyone would call him first, to do anything from emergency plumbing issues to intricate tile work. He taught his son the tools of his trade and helped his son and daughter-in-law renovate their first house, much to his daughter-in-law’s delight (and his son’s dismay), especially when she dreamed up future house projects.
Ron and Maxine retired to Smithville, where he loved spending time at the senior center, meeting new friends to play cards with, and shooting pool. Ron was known for finding out-of- the-way places to eat and enjoyed visiting Paradise, MO for a “cheeseburger in Paradise.” He also loved visiting with his brothers when they came up to walk around the lake. Ron was always known for his sense of humor and fun-loving demeanor. He was the life of the party and could always make you smile. His fun razzes and quick roasts would leave the receiver with a grin from ear to ear. Even when he was just sitting back and listening to everyone around him, his mischievous smile would let you know he was up to no good.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Sarah Fultz, brothers Orville Fultz Junior, Claude Fultz, and Johnny Fultz, and sisters Charlene Gillette and Karen Fultz. He is survived by his wife Maxine Fultz of the home, son John (Jennifer) Fultz, siblings Billy Fultz, Larry (Clarkie) Fultz, and Barbara Charles, as well as beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
