Roosevelt Racy Sr.

 Roosevelt Racy Sr. transition into glory on October 9th 2024 He was born on March 6th 1929 in Winchester Arkansas to Benjamin and Francis Racy He was the 5th of 11 children. In his late teens he moved to Kansas City Mo and married Katie Mae Jackson and to this union two children were born Roosevelt Jr and Patricia Roosevelt worked at the President Hotel downtown Kansas City Missouri and held other jobs. He self taught himself in doing car body work and became owner of his business Roosevelt Racy Auto Body and Fender Repair. It became a family business in us learning the trade including two of his brothers following in his footsteps. He gained many friends while restoring their vehicles back to new over 20 years before retiring. Roosevelt accepted Christ Jesus as his Lord and savior and was baptized at Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Kansas City Kansas he loved his family and was well loved by family and all that knew him. He will be truly missed. always asking about everyone and how they're doing tell them I said "hello" every moment was cherished when he spent time with his children grandchildren and great-grandchildren surrounded by love fun and laughter he had a comical sense of humor with some quick comeback answers that would make you laugh. He loved watching old western movies Sanford and Son The Three Stooges and cartoons the Roadrunner and Popeye, just to name a few 
Going on fishing trips was one of his favorite sports and watching wrestling on TV and taking his family to the wrestling events at Memorial Hall. He was a serious man and didn't have no time for foolishnessbut knew how to entertain his friends and have fun He was one of the best in playing dominoes and rolling them dice back in the day and continue to play Bingo to the end of his time. Roosevelt was preceded and death by his wife Katie Mae Racy both parents Benjamin and Francis Racy son Roosevelt Racy Jr great-grandson Blu Manning Four brothers Ben Eli Racy Levi Racy DV Racy and Van Racy Sr two sisters Alguster Sykes and Erma Lee Jones Roosevelt leaves to cherish his memory daughter Patricia( Jon) Reese Kansas City Missouri grandchildren Latrice Ferguson Dwayne Ferguson Deshaun Ferguson Andre Giladi and Bobby Manning Jr great-granddaughter Naytive Giladi great-grandson Deshaun Ferguson Junior Three Sisters Essie M. Bradford Texas Ruthie L Ward Kansas City Missouri Blanche Stanley and one brother David (Beulah) Racy of KCK and a host of family and friends 

A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October  at St. Andrews Missionary Baptist Church located at 5300 Parallel Pkwy Kansas City, Kansas 66104. Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. The viweing will begin at 9:00am.
