Rosie Lee Pete Bryson was born on August 1, 1927 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to the union of Houston Pete Sr. and Laura Jacks Pete.
Rosie Lee departed this life on March 6, 2024 and was preceded in death by her parents, her two sons: Donnie Reed Sr. and Quincy Bryson; one grandson: Damion Estell; seven brothers: Kelly, Wilton, Skelton, Houston, Albert, Alvin, and Marshall; three sisters: Edolia, Odelia, and Elizabeth; and her loving companion Lonnie Smith Sr. (also known as Pawpaw). She attended school in Oklahoma and was loved on by the
family as their baby girl, spending her childhood enjoying her brothers and sister on the family farm. Affectionately referred
to as Aunt Leah or Big Mama, Rosie Lee was a hardworking and devoted mother, grandmother and aunt.
Rosie Lee was a second mother to many and loved her family more than life itself. She was a fun-loving woman who enjoyed dancing, cooking, fishing, traveling, hosting parties and barbecues, and spilling tea with the best totally unfiltered with pure love. After 96 glorious years on earth, Rosie Lee joined the heavenly angels quietly at home with her family. A fighter until the very end, she leaves to cherish her memory her four daughters, Doris Reed Estell, Denise Reed Carruthers, Mary Lou Bryson Collins (Lee); and Linda Haynes Lawson; 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Rosie Lee, our Mother, Aunt Leah, and Big Mama, will be sorely missed. We cherish her memory and are forever grateful God gave her unselfishly.
